Welcome to 99 GAL Friends

99 GAL Friends, a women's membership organization, is working toward a healthier, more equitable future for everyone in Yamhill County, Oregon, with an emphasis on underserved populations. We use a collective giving model as described below. 

We are part of an ever-increasing number of women's giving circles that have been formed throughout the U.S. in recent decades to effect significant positive change in their own geographic areas.

Our Inspiration:
A different way to give!

​We believe in investing our time, money, and other resources as a group. Together, we can have a much greater impact than if each of us acted alone.

​We draw our inspiration from the innovative concept of collective giving brought to life by those who created the first women's giving circles. The brilliant, quite simple, idea is that by pooling yearly membership fees (our fee is a minimum of $300 yearly or $25 a month), we can award relatively large Impact Grants to local nonprofits for projects and initiatives that promise to change lives and our communities for the better.

​Our story

When 99 GAL Friends was started three years ago, there were just a few of us, excited and hopeful, yet not wanting to expect too much. Our county is neither urban nor wealthy, and the pandemic had not yet subsided.

Since that beginning, the incredible women who have come together with energy, idealism, and funds have created a thriving organization. It hardly seems possible that in such a short time we've awarded as many grants—and given away as much money—as we have.

We are strengthened and encouraged by all that has happened—and can happen—when we join each other in trusting community.

​We extend profound appreciation to so many of you who have offered kind assistance and support along the way. And if you are not yet involved, we genuinely welcome your help as we learn, plan, and continue to grow.
